Purchasing Officer (Japanese Speaking)募集

As a Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for the purchasing and developing procurement strategies for the acquisition of fresh fruits and food items from Japan for the benefit of the client company. Reporting to the Director, the Buyer must have excellent communication skills and be able to multi-task under a fast-changing environment.

Job Title: Purchasing Officer (Japanese Speaking)

Main Job Duties:
-Review and place purchase orders verbally, electronically, or via fax for all goods and services
-Maintain constant communication with director and report progress as required
-Flexibility to respond in a timely manner to suppliers in a different time zone
-Establish and implement purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures
-Stay up to date on newest trends for Japanese food items
-Collaborate with logistics and customs clearance partners to arrange delivery and arrival of goods
-Collaborate with Director to source new and alternative purchased finished goods
-Establish, build, and maintain relationships with all key suppliers
-Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed
-Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms with suppliers
-Review and resolve any discrepancies with supplier invoices, grievances, claims, conflicts, product non-conformance or quality issues

Minimum Requirements:
-Native level of fluency in Japanese and business level in English or Chinese
-Proven track record as a buyer preferred
-Import/Export experience an asset
-Outgoing yet detailed oriented and always following the Japanese food trend
-Work efficiently under pressure in a high-paced environment
-Bachelor Degree preferred
-Willing to learn and adapt
-Highly motivated to achieve targets
-Proficiency in MS-Office, Adobe Photoshop an asset
-A team player who possesses good communication and interpersonal skills

A growing lumber manufacturer in Vancouver is looking for a sales/customer service oriented person to join their team. The successful candidate will have lots of ideas and a positive attitude to grow with the company.

Job Title : Senior Lumber Sales Assistant (EN & JA)

Location : Downtown Vancouver
Duration of employment : Permanent, Full-time
Work hours : 9 am - 5:30 pm *Some overtime may be requested. (approx. 5 to 10 hrs/month)
Starting Date : ASAP
Compensations : Starting $36k - 54k/ year *DOE plus group insurance (Extended Health, Dental, etc.) after 3-month probationary period

* Please note that these compensation figures are not fixed but are a guideline based on work performance. Salaries will be evaluated fairly based on your background.

Main Job Duties:
-Maintain long-lasting relationship with existing clients
-Generate new business by using strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude
-Provide weekly/monthly sales reports
-Supplier communication and coordination
-Oversee logistics of product ordering to delivery process
-Oversee the remanufacture and product of specialty items by using softwood lumber inventory management software
-Manage to maintain the products in the highest quality
-Assist the general manager in all other sales related activities/support

Minimum Requirements:
-Fluent in Japanese and English, both spoken and written (business level)
-Possesses the highest standard of communication skills
-Understands the cultural nuances of both the North American and Japanese Cultures
-Strong trouble shooting skills / attention to detail

Responsibilities/Duties – Branch Associate
-Serve as a first point of contact for clients and visitors to the office, greeting and screening in a professional and helpful manner.
-Field incoming calls, redirecting where appropriate.

Responsibilities/Duties – Japan Marketing Assistant
-Assist Managing Director, Private Wealth with account opening procedures for Japanese individual and corporate accounts
-Translate and prepare client correspondence as required
-Assist Managing Director, Investment Banking with conference and seminar organization and preparation as required
-Assist with basic research in Japanese
-Assist with client outreach in Japan including with corporations, institutional investors and industry organizations

Requirements
-2 - 5 years’ administrative experience in an office environment preferably within the financial/wealth management sector; direct experience in Japan strongly favorable
-University Degree or College Diploma in Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Superior oral and written communication, interpersonal, analytical, decision-making and organizational skills. Proven ability to draft clear and concise correspondence.
-Excellent communication skills (listening/speaking/writing) in Japanese (Native Japanese speaker would be preferable)
-High proficiency with Microsoft Office, scheduling and e-mail(Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint)
-Determined and hardworking with high personal and professional standards.
-Good time management and interpersonal skills
-The ability to work independently with demonstrated initiative, accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
-Quick learner and self-starter under minimal supervision
-Outgoing and enthusiastic personality
-Open to learning taking on other tasks and responsibilities as needed
-Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
-Demonstrated judgment, tact, discretion and ability to handle complex matters of a sensitive and confidential nature
-IR license in good standing considered an asset.

Working Conditions
-3 months initial contract: May extend for 3-9 additional months
-Start Date: As soon as possible
